AutoCAD
A larger part in design course is AutoCAD, which is a software application for 2D & 3D aided design (CAD). Before AutoCAD was introduced, most of these CAD programs ran on mainframe computers or mini-computers.
ProE
Parametric, integrated 3D CAD/CAM/CAE solution is Pro-Engineer (Pro-E) which is currently called as PTC Creo. It is a solid modeling software which is associative, feature based and parametric. ProE is a Multi-Programs software used for design, analysis and manufacturing. It deals with model creation and assemblage of designs.
Creo
The other program in Course design is Creo which is a family or group of design software which aids product design. The group consists of different apps, each having a different set of executable capabilities to be used in product development. The third program in Design is SOLIDWORKS, which is solid modeling CAD & CAE software. Solid Works is a solid modeler, and utilizes a parametric feature - based approach to create models and assemblies.
